Know If You're Overlooked at Your Job

Constantly having a few bad days at work and don't know how to stop it? Wondering if you'll ever amount to anything in the workplace? You might be taken advantage of and it might be time to step up for your rights as a worker or find a new career.

List off all your required job duties. What are you in charge of? Think about whether or not you do all of those things and if you do more than required. How much more do you do? If you're doing more than your required job, there is a good chance you may be taken advantage of.

What is your pay? Are you getting paid for the extras that you do? If not, this is also a problem.

Do you get acknowledged when you go above and beyond for your company? Is there any reward for a job well done? Think about how important you seem to the company.

Talk to other coworkers. Do they do the same job as you? Ask them questions about what work they do and possibly the amount they are paid, if they are willing to answer. Compare. If they are making more than you for doing less, you're company is not respecting you as an employee and it's time to fix things!

Does your boss ever deal with you directly? If you are being avoided on a constant basis and never get any words in, you may have a real problem on your hands.

Talk directly to the one in charge. Open up about your feelings as a neglected worker. Discuss a raise or a cutback in duties. It is your right as a worker to not be taken advantage of. If this does not work, know that it is time for a new job.

Find a new job or enjoy a better workplace.
