Aircraft Dispatcher

At British Airways, the aircraft dispatcher is also known as the Airside Business Manager. The dispatcher is responsible for the aircraft's safe and timely departure. Any issue, large or small, that can cause a delay in departure is handled and overseen by the aircraft dispatcher. He must troubleshoot and work with other members of that division to do everything possible to ensure a timely departure. The dispatcher confirms the aircraft has been adequately fueled, cargo weight does not exceed weight limitations, all passengers checked in have boarded and the flight control instruments have been checked by the engineer. Since an airplane is not able to leave for departure until the aircraft dispatcher is satisfied all conditions have been met, his is a highly responsible and important position within British Airways. Most aircraft dispatchers with British Airways are hired within and have experience in the areas of aircraft or passenger services. Aircraft and passenger services are the staff members seen taking tickets and baggage, assisting passengers through the airport and boarding passengers and loading baggage.

Airline Pilot

British Airways pilots have a wide choice of fleet types and destination choices from which to choose. These highly trained pilots work with a co-pilot to monitor the instruments on the flight panel and communicate with air traffic controllers and cabin crew. British Airways pilots can fly a variety of Boeing airplanes or Airbus planes. Before departure, the pilot checks all instruments and equipment for proper functioning. Flight Attendant

Flight attendants with British Airways have a wide variety of duties that provide customer service to passengers while ensuring their safety during flights. Before passengers board, flight attendants check that all safety and emergency equipment is working properly and fully stocked. They communicate with passengers and also serve meals, snacks, or beverages while the plane is in flight. After the plane lands and passengers de-plane, the flight attendant takes inventory, cleans the aircraft, and restocks items for the next flight.
