Apply for an Overseas Truck Driving Job

According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, the number of wage and salary jobs in the truck transportation and warehousing industry was projected to grow 11 percent from 2008 through 2018. Overseas, there is also growing demand for truck driving jobs. Many overseas companies carry the same requirements as U.S. counterparts. Job listings on the Internet have made it convenient for truckers to apply for overseas jobs.

Visit different truck driving job websites and online directories. Focus your online search on truck driving opportunities in overseas countries you would prefer to work.

Select suitable truck driving job opportunities that meet your primary interest, such as heavy or light truck driving jobs.

Read and understand the specific job requirements outlined by the selected hiring company. Select the company whose job requirements you can adequately meet.

Prepare an international curriculum vitae or resume. Highlight the skills, qualifications and experience that qualify you for the overseas truck driving job, including possession of an international driving permit and relevant work experience.

Prepare a cover letter. Write a letter explaining why you can meet the truck driving needs of the overseas company. Express a genuine desire to work in the country where the hiring company is located.
